Programs We Offer

An Established and Verified Approach

Marathon Children and Family Centre is devoted to providing comprehensive and exceptional child care. We strive to create learning environments based on the interests of the children. Educators make daily observations in order to ensure that our playrooms are engrossing and enlightening. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach to learning in where we believe that children learn best through play. By observing the children and creating activities based on the interests of the children, educators are able to create engaging educational spaces and activities which stimulate learning and development.

Our programs are structured to include a variety of hands-on activities as such activities are very beneficial to increasing development during the critical years of child growth. We partner with Fair Start using the Disc Preschool Screen (DPS), Speech/Language and Social Checklists. These processes and packages help educators keep note of each child’s development and make plans to ensure each child is continually learning and challenged while growing and having fun.

A portfolio is kept for each child detailing the thoughts, characteristics and development of the child. Parents are able to access their child’s portfolios methodically. In addition, daily panels are made within every program offered by Marathon Children and Family Centre.
